On Thursday, August 18, 2022, on the Eve of the Great Feast of the Transfiguration, the mission parish community held its first services and meeting at the home of Dr. Scott Mitchell.
Vespers for the Feast and the Blessing of First Fruits was served by Fr. Gabriel Monforte, co-served by Fr. Ceraphim Mitchell. The singing was ably led by Matushka Faith Mitchell.
Following Vespers, the first meeting was held to discuss the founding of the mission parish. Items discussed included the proposed name of the mission parish, finding a suitable place to serve the divine services, stewardship and outreach, and the overall aims and goals of the mission.
Glory to God for this important first step of finally being able to meet together in person for prayer and fellowship.
